The decision for Hamburg’s new large urban expansion area “Oberbillwerder” has been made. On 24 May 2018, the Advisory Board of the Competitive Dialogue chaired by Uli Hellweg selected the winning design for Oberbillwerder with a clear 18:2 vote: the Danish-Dutch-German planning team ADEPT Aps with Karres + Brands and Transsolar Energietechnik. The “The Connected City” design blends in perfectly with the existing landscape structure and creates new connections to the neighbouring districts. Oberbillwerder is developed as an “Active City” model district and is decisively influenced by the topics of health, nutrition and sport. More
